Peace Palace (Dutch: Vredespaleis) (The Hague) — the UN International Court of Justice is housed in the Vredespaleis. The grand building was donated by American steel maker Andrew Carnegie for use by the International Court of Arbitration, an early international body whose goal was the prevention of war.
The Peace Palace’s Visitors Centre is open from Tuesday through Sunday (in August also open on Monday’s) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the winter period, November through March, it is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on the First and Second day of Christmas, New Year’s Day and King’s Day.
